Short Stories For Adults- RESCUE ON THE SEA

Short Stories For Adults

RESCUE ON THE SEA - Auther Ms Zeenat Hussain

Very little has been written about the ancient coastal people of Lyari – the irrepressible

Makranis – who take their name from the Makran coast of Sindh and, Balochistan, which also
indicates a common history of the two provinces; the Makran coast constitutes the South-East
of Iran and the South-West of Pakistan; a 1,000 km stretch along the Gulf of Oman from RA’s (cape) Al-Kuh, Iran (West of Jask), to the Lasbela District of Pakistan (near Karachi). TheMakran coast is on the Arabian Sea, to the North-West of Quetta in Balochistan.

The following is a story of one such coastal village:

Children on bare - back camels, watch the sea, its vastness spanning even beyond the grasp of their eyes. Fishermen on the beach watch the sky, like the city dwellers read their newspapers first thing in the morning. Through the knots of their nets hanging on the line, they
seem to predict the weather. This exercise determines whether they should take a boat out or not on the deep sea, for their daily expedition to catch fish. The air is filled with the smell of rancid water that is due to the deposits of oil, resulting in decayed and dead sea-life. Music, which is a part of their lives, plays in the background. The sounds are a fusion of musical cultures from the Middle East, Indo-Pakistan and Africa.

The shells on the beach look like the abandoned toenails of the old fishermen, and they are more beautiful there, than on the foot. The broken wings, the sand-logged crabs, a woman’s lonely shoe, a rusty toy damaged beyond recognition, the plank or sail from a doomed boat, all lay sprawled on the beach, each with a story behind it, cleansed and sterilized by the salt and iodine in the great hospital of the sea. In the night, the light from the tower was but a spot
against the background of the sky and spectacular cliffs.

The weather beaten villager’s munched dates from the interior while watching holidaymakers trying to teach their children to swim, like fish to water, amidst the shouts and screams of the children who are already submerged in the waters. The steps of the ladies faltered as they approached the sea, clad in shalwar kameezes filled with the wind, the Shalwar Kameez itself a deterrent for swimming.

The story told here is that of a villager who because of his sharp sense of hearing helped in the rescue of a drowning man. The villager was alone and as he had no family to fend for, hence he had no responsibilities to drain his energy. Somehow he had also preserved his youth, which he owed to mother nature. Religion that usually comes into the house with the presence of a woman was lacking in his and he was quite oblivious of it.

One evening when it was well after ten and the moon was full with black clouds scudding in ordered masses across the sky, he was still sitting on his wall, all alone. A cool wind suddenly sighed from an unexpected quarter and in its wake was a noise like that from a distant cavalry charge. His razor sharp ears picked up the sound. His brow creased up as his eyes searched
the distance. He hobbled to his neighbours house and banged on the door of his traditional mud -hut – the two men, though natural life-guards, knew thoroughly all that was written in the books about rescue on the seas. The coastal blacks were descendants of imported slaves – the fishermen being known as the Meds and the seamen as the Koras – when there was no

response; he banged on the door again. A groggy fellow soon appeared. He pointed towards

the horizon and mumbled something in the Makranic dialect. The man’s eyes tried to see

beyond the direction of the location being pointed at. A boat in trouble, he thought aloud.

Without wasting any time they woke the other men.

A rule of the sea states, that half the purchase price of the vessel of the sea is given to

the rescue party. This prize money was quite a temptation, but since it was always dangerous

the case required to be argued, all hands knew that the proposed journey was perilous.

The village women all having gathered on the beach, saw their men disappear, reappear

, disappear, reappear and finally disappear into the darkness. They were now a tiny speck in the

vast vista of the sea – the ocean that is open to all and merciful to none, that which threatens

even when it seems to yield, pitiless always to weakness.

Many of the Makrani women now worked as domestic servants in Karachi; they were

also experts in the art of massaging any mother and child after birth. Their traditional

long dresses with hand-woven

Embroidery gave them a distinct ‘folk’ touch, separating them from the typical Karachiites. The

skirt-like look, with its wide circumference, and the loose shalwar could be compared to the

costumes of the pathan and Kabuli women.

The men in the rescue boat changed sides, so as not to tip the balance of the boat as

the surf sprayed them from head to toe. The taste of salt lingered in their mouths during the

voyage. They were not bothered by their appearance. On the contrary, they felt no different from

when they started out dry.

Suddenly, a dark object was thrown at them on the crest of a wave. It was a man. They

held on to the poor fellow and eventually succeeded in dragging him aboard. Nobody felt sorry

that this time, there was no prize. They rowed back to their village.

Couples fought with each other to offer hospitality to this half dead man; and they almost

came to blows in their struggle for this visa to heaven.

They fetched a doctor from a nearby village, while the women sat all around him wearing

their beads. The doctor was a Karachiite who had been sent to the village to serve them. The

doctor prompted the man to speak. The man said, “Mahganj” very faintly. Repeated attempts,

received the same response. The diagnosis stated that he was a victim of a traumatic shock

and was suffering from amnesia, which meant a loss of memory, if only temporarily.

The Priest, who was also a member of the village council, was also summoned, as was

the case in other similar incidents. “What’s going on here?” he asked one of the ladies. “A

miracle” said all the ladies together. The Makrani women are predominantly Muslim.

The Priest was briefed about the rescue and what followed. Being

an elderly fellow, he recalled that a girl by the name of ‘Mahganj’ had been registered in the

mosque some eighteen years ago.

Now, it was easy to put two and two together. The man they found was associated with Mahganj and was discovered as belonging to the same village as her’s. He was also supposed to marry her.

Mahganj was the granddaughter of the village tailor. Thus it was decided that the man be taken back to the same village that he originated from. Similar surroundings would help to revive his memory, it was hoped.

A therapist was hired from the city and surely, slowly though, his memory came back in bits and pieces. Mahganj’s presence always evoked a response in the man, so strong was the bond of love. His memory did eventually return, which in turn led to their marriage. They led a happy married life.

Moral Stories Shankaracharya and Lamp

Shankaracharya and Lamp

One night Shankaracharya was desperately searching for something on the street outside his small hut.

When his pupil returned from his errand, he saw this and curiously asked the Master, “Aacharya, what are you looking for here on the street at this hour?”

Shankaracharya replied, “I lost my needle, I am looking for it.”

The pupil joined him in the search, but after searching for a while, he asked, “Can you try and recollect where you might have dropped it?”

Shankaracharya said, “Of course, I remember. I dropped it near the bed in the hut.”

The pupil, utterly astonished at the strange answer, said, “Aacharya, you say you lost it inside the house, then why are we looking for it outside?”

Shankaracharya innocently replied, “There is no oil left in the lamp, so it is pitch dark inside the house. Hence I thought of searching for it outside, since there is enough street light here.”

While holding back his laugh, the pupil said, “If you lost your needle inside the house, how could you even expect to find it outside?”

Shankaracharya simply smiled back at the pupil and said, "Isn't that what we do? We run to far away temples and walk up mountains to search for what we have lost inside ourselves. We are all seeking outside what we have lost inside us. Why? Just because it is pitch dark inside.

Silly, aren’t we?"

"Light the Lamp inside you and find your lost treasure right there in"

Moral Stories -The King and Macaw Parrots

✨The King and Macaw Parrots

Read moral stories at
Https://Moralstoriesandquotes.blogspot.com

Once upon a time, there was a king who had gone to visit neighboring kingdoms. He was gifted a pair of baby Macaw Parrots by the king of the last kingdom where he was visiting. They were the most beautiful birds he had ever seen. So, upon returning to his kingdom, he called for a bird trainer and asked him to train macaw parrots.

The king also arranged a place in the palace garden for the parrots. He often looked at them from his palace window. As time passed, one day the trainer came to the palace and informed the king that though one of the parrots was flying majestically high in the sky, the other one was not moving from its branch since the day it had arrived.

Upon hearing this, the king summoned trainer and healers from the nearby kingdoms. They all tried their best, but couldn’t make the parrot fly! He even asked his courtiers to try to find a way to make the parrot fly but they all failed. The parrot was not moving from his branch at all. Finally, after trying everything, the king thought that maybe he needs someone who may be more familiar with natural habitat. He asked his courtier to get a farmer from the countryside and take him to the parrot to see if he can understand the problem with the parrot.

The next morning, the king was thrilled to see the parrot flying high above the palace gardens. He asked his servant to call that farmer to meet him. The servant quickly went and located the farmer, who came and stood before the king. The king asked him, “How did you make the parrot fly?”

With his hands folded with respect, the farmer said to the king, “It was very easy, your majesty. I simply cut the branch where the bird was sitting.”

Moral: We are all gifted with energy to find a success in our life, but fail to gather a courage which is required to reach heights of success and end up clinging to the things that are familiar to us. We need to free ourselves from our comfort zone to explore new opportunities and find a success beyond our capacity.

Sometimes Just let it be

Moral stories at https://Moralstoriesandquotes.blogspot.com

Once Buddha was walking from one town to another town with a few of his followers. This was in the initial days. While they were traveling, they happened to pass a lake. They stopped there and Buddha told one of his disciples, “I am thirsty. Please get me some water from that lake there”.

The disciple walked up to the lake. When he reached it, he noticed that some people were washing clothes in the water and, right at that moment, a bullock cart started crossing the lake right at the edge of it. As a result, the water became very muddy, very turbid. The disciple thought, “How can I give this muddy water to Buddha to drink?!” So he came back and told the Buddha, “The water in there is very muddy. I don’t think it is fit to drink”.

So, the Buddha said, let us take a little rest here by the tree. After about half an hour, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back to the lake and get him some water to drink. The disciple obediently went back to the lake. This time he found that the lake had absolutely clear water in it. The mud had settled down and the water above it looked fit to be had. So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to the Buddha.

The Buddha looked at the water, and then he looked up at the disciple and said, “See, You let the water be and the mud settled down on its own. You got a clear water. It didn’t require any effort”.

Moral: Your mind is also like that. When it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time. It will settle down on its own. You don’t have to put in any effort to calm it down. We can judge and take best decisions of our life when we stay calm

Moral Story - S.O.S. Approach

S.O.S. Approach

An Airbus 380 is on its way across the Atlantic. It flies consistently at 800 km/h in 30,000 feet, when suddenly a Eurofighter with Tempo Mach 2 appears.
The pilot of the fighter jet slows down, flies alongside the Airbus and greets the pilot of the passenger plane by radio: "Airbus flight, boring flight isn’t it? Take care and have a look here!”

He rolls his jet on its back, accelerates, breaks through the sound barrier, rises rapidly to a dizzying height, only to swoop down almost to sea level in a breathtaking dive. He loops back next to the Airbus and asks, "Well, how was that?"

The Airbus pilot answers: "Very impressive, but now have a look here!"

The jet pilot watches the Airbus, but nothing happens. It continues to fly stubbornly straight, with the same speed. After five minutes, the Airbus pilot radioed, "Well, what are you saying now?"

The jet pilot asks confused: "What did you do?" The other laughs and says, "I got up, stretched my legs, went to the back of the flight to the bathroom, got a cup of coffee and a cinnamon cake and made an appointment with the stewardess for the next three nights - in a 5 Star hotel, which is paid for by my employer. "

The moral of the story is:
When you are young, speed and adrenaline seems to be great. But as you get older and wiser, comfort and peace are not to be despised either.
This is called S.O.S.: Slower, Older, Smarter.

Dedicated to all my friends who like me likes the S.O.S. approach! ✈️😂😂😂

A Rich Mouse and a Holy Man

A Rich Mouse and a Holy Man

Read moral stories at HTTPS://moralstoriesandquotes.blogspot.com

Once, there lived a Holy Man. He was poor and depended on alms. He would eat a little food and keep the rest in a begging bowl, hung high up on a peg. A Mouse had seen this, and used to jump up and help himself to the food.

One day, a friend of the Holy Man visited him. After they had eaten, they started chatting. The Holy Man could not concentrate and kept tapping on the ground with a stick to scare the Mouse away.

The friend asked, “What are you doing? Why don’t you listen to me, properly?” “Excuse me!” said the Holy Man. “It’s just that dreadful Mouse! He eats away whatever food I manage to save.” Wondering how the Mouse could jump so high, the friend said, “The Mouse must have put aside a lot of food, which must give him extraordinary energy to jump so high.”

They then, dug and found the hoard of food that the Mouse had gathered and took it away.

The Mouse returned and found his hoard of food missing, and was very sad. He lost all interest in stealing food from the Holy Man’s bowl.

Moral Story - Rabbit n Tortoise The New Race

* * Best Motivation ..! *
Read moral stories at HTTPS://moralstoriesandquotes.blogspot.com
In the rabbit and the tortoise race, the rabbit loses due to sleep. Tortoise wins but rabbit does not calm down. He realized that although he was more likely to run fast, he lost sleep due to sleep. He proposed a race to tortoise again to end this year of defeat. The tortoise, who believes that he can win, was happy. The race was resumed. The rabbit didn't make the mistake this time. He did not stop. Did not sleep As a result, the fast rabbit won the race. The slow-moving turtle loses.

* But once the Taste of Victory tortoise was not ready to give up. The Tortoise went back to the rabbit. Said, 'I heard you. Now listen to me. Let us race again! 'The rabbit laughed and said,

 * "Once I lost due to my mistake. How do I make that mistake again? * But if you only want to lose, put on the race again! As the rabbit approached, the tortoise said, 'But this time I will decide the way of the race!' The rabbit, who was sure of his own speed and the slow pace of the tortoise, made him happy.

Tortoise decided the race route. The race started again Rabbit was not going to make a mistake. He ran fast. The tortoise stayed behind but suddenly the rabbit stumbled as he escaped. Stopped on the spot. * The river was flowing in his way. * The tortoise had made its way. The rabbit could not swim. The rabbit stayed there. The slowly approaching tortoise got there. He looked at the rabbit and jumped into the river and reached the shore. * Tortoise overcomes the rabbit's intelligence with his own intelligence. * The lost rabbit kept thinking. He could not swim, so he realized that he had lost.

Rabbit Said, '

* Dude, you don't want to race today. Wherever there is land, I will take you back. Take me back wherever the river lies. If we continue to do this together, we will both be next! '*

Not everyone has all the qualities or qualities. But each one has some qualities. What we do not have, others can have. You can have what others don't have.

* By using each other's qualities, we can fill our shortcomings. The best achievement can be achieved. *

 * There is more to the power of each other than spending money on defeating each other. *

* Rather than simply making the mistakes of someone else in pursuit of personal dignity, ignoring the mistakes of them and using them to see the best of them, this is a truly successful activity! *

* Finding helpful people and helping them see who we can find helpful is the key to achieving this.

Some people have the ability to imagine, but the imagination does not have the ability to pass the truth. Some have the power; But there is no proper planning ability. Some have organizational ability; But there is no decision making. There is decision-making; So there is no leadership ability.

At this point, the one who has the right use of his qualities to move on to the team, that is, to win the battlefield too! *

If you want to have success, it is very important to sell such qualities and qualities!

You should avoid hiding in your own cell by stepping foot in the stomach like a snail in the moment of crisis!

On the contrary add more men.

Moral Stories - Rotten Tomatoes

 Story of tomatoes!

Read moral stories at
HTTPS://moralstoriesandquotes.blogspot.com

🍅 Once a teacher asked her students to bring some tomatoes from a plastic bag to school.

On each tomato, the children wanted to write down the name of the person they hated.

In this way, they wanted to bring in as many tomatoes as they could.

On the 7th day, all the children brought their tomatoes that were properly named.

Some brought two, some three, some five, and some twenty tomatoes.

The teacher then told everyone that they wanted to take the tomatoes with them wherever they went in two weeks.

As the days progressed, the children began to complain of tomatoes and the smell of tomatoes.

🍅 Students who had a large number of tomatoes complained that their burden was too heavy to carry and the odor was too loose.

After 7 weeks, the teacher asked the students, "How did you feel this week?"

🍅 Children complained about dirty smells and heavy weight of tomatoes. Especially those who brought a lot of tomatoes.

The teacher said, "This is precisely what you, in your heart, hate about someone you don't like."

2 Hate makes the heart sick and you carry it with you wherever you go.

🍅 "If you can't tolerate tomato odor for a week, imagine how much bitterness you are dealing with every day can affect your gut!"

The heart is a beautiful garden. It requires regular weeding, removing unnecessary weeds.

Forgive those who are angry with you.

That will make room in your heart for storing new good things.

Let us all work together. Not bitterness, but to get some good.

Life belongs to those who can play

Life belongs to those who can play

Read moral stories at
www.moralstoriesandquotes.blogspot.com
There is an old sufi fable.
In a very ancient family there was some musical organ, but people had completely forgotten how to play it. Generations came and people even forgot that it was a musical organ. It was gathering dust.
It was a very big organ and it was taking up much space. One day the family decided to throw this nonsense.
They said, ‘This is just a nuisance. Why should we keep it?’ They took it out; they threw it on the road.
They had just reached home when a beggar started playing upon the organ.
Time stopped. They simply turned. The whole traffic stopped, people came rushing from their houses; they forgot everything. For one hour the beggar was playing on it.
It was so beautiful, so enchanting — they were just hypnotised. And when the music ended the family demanded their organ back.
The beggar said, ‘It is not yours, because a musical instrument belongs to one who can play with it. There is no other ownership. It may have remained in your house for many centuries but it doesn’t belong to you. You are not worthy of it. I am the owner!’
And of course the whole crowd agreed with the beggar — that he was the owner — because what does one mean by ownership?
A musical instrument belongs to one who can play with it.
And that’s how it is: life belongs to those who can go deeper and deeper and deeper into it.

The Obstacles in Our Path

The Obstacles in Our Path
HTTPS://moralstoriesandquotes.blogspot.com

In ancient times, a king had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it.
Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the big stone out of the way. Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. On approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. As the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many others never understand.
Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve one’s condition.

Moral Story - The Garbage Truck

One day, I hopped into a taxi and took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly, a black car, jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed the brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!" This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck'

He explained, "Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. NEVER take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on with the routine life." Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so...... 'Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't.'

Old Man who read the future

A man who lived a long time ago believed that he could read the future in the stars. He called himself an Astrologer and spent his time at night gazing at the sky. He was always busy worrying about future and villagers often came to him, hoping to know what their future holds.

One evening he was walking along the open road outside the village. His eyes were fixed on the stars. He thought he saw there that the end of the world was at near. He lost in his thoughts about the future. As he was looking at the stars, he kept walking without looking down. Suddenly, he fell into a ditch full of mud and water.

He was sinking in the muddy water, and madly trying to claw at the slippery sides of the hole in his effort to climb out. He was unable to crawl out and fearing for his life, he started screaming for help. His cries for help soon brought the villagers running.

As they pulled him out of the mud, one of them said, “You pretend to read the future in the stars, and yet you fail to see what is at your feet! This may teach you to pay more attention to what is right in front of you, and let the future take care of itself.”

“What use is it,” said another, “to read the stars, when you can’t see what’s right here on the earth?”

Moral: We all want our future to be bright and happy, but the time doesn’t stop for anyone. Each tomorrow turns into today, your present is also a part your future. There is always a tomorrow to look forward to and improve, but you can’t go back to yesterday. So, maintain the balance of your present life while you work for a better tomorrow.

THE MAYONNAISE JAR

A professor stood before his class with some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with some golf balls until he could not fill in any more of the golf balls.

He asked the students whether the jar was full or not. All the students unanimously  agreed that it was full.

The professor then picked up some small pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly for the pebbles to settle down. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. When he thought he could no longer add more pebbles , he once asked his students whether the jar was full or not. All the students agreed it was full and he could no longer put more of the pebbles.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. The sand settled between the spaces left in by the pebbles. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

“Do you think I can fill this jar any more.” Asked the professor. “No” answered all of the students.

He then took his coffee mug and poured the coffee into the Jar.  The sand soaked the coffee in and any space left were filled with the coffee .

The students laughed.

‘Now,’ said the professor as the laughter subsided, ‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are represents the most  important things in your life- your family,   health, friends and favorite passions. If you are left with only them, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like job, house and car. The sand is everything else-the small stuff.

‘If you put the sand into the jar first there will be no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.’

If you spend all the time and energy on the small stuffs, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Spend time with family.

Spend time with your parents.

Visit with grandparents.

Follow your passion

There will always be time to do petty things.

Take care of the golf balls in your life, other things can easily be adjusted into the life . Set your priorities, give time to the important things in life because the rest is just sand!

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the water represented. The professor smiled and said, ‘I’m glad you asked.’ The water just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of coffee with friends.

Moral Stories - The Blind Man and the Lame Man

The Blind Man and the Lame Man

Once, a Blind Man was walking along a rough road. He found it very difficult to walk alone as he could not see the bumps and the puddles on the road.

Just then, someone touched the Blind Man’s arm. It was a Lame Man.

The Blind Man introduced himself to the Lame Man and said, “Dear friend, I am facing difficulty walking on the road alone. Will you please guide me and help me complete my journey?”

The Lame Man replied sadly, “I would have readily helped you, my friend, but I am lame and cannot move

even an inch without help. How will I guide you?”

The Lame Man then thought for a moment and said to the Blind Man, “You seem to be strong and healthy. If you carry me on your shoulders, we can both complete our journey. I will guide you as I can see and you can carry me as you have strong legs.”

The Blind Man readily agreed to the solution offered by the Lame Man.

Both men helped each other and completed their journey, safely and with pleasure.

We all can achieve our goals by helping one another in times of need.

Moral Stories - THE FARMER AND THE STORK

THE FARMER AND THE STORK

Finding that cranes were destroying his newly sown corn, a farmer
one evening set a net in his field to catch the destructive birds.
When he went to examine the net next morning he found
a number of cranes and also a stork.
“Release me, I beseech you,” cried the stork, “for I have eaten none of your corn, nor have I done you any harm. I am a poor innocent stork, as you may see - a most dutiful bird, I honor my father and mother.
I...”
But the farmer cut him short. “All this may be true enough, I dare say, but I have caught you with those were destroying my crops, and you must suffer with the company in which you are found.”

Moral Stories- Seven Simple Steps To Tackle Any Problem

1.Collect all Information:  information about your problem to come up with a great creative solution.

2. Be Excited:  Your brain uses a lot of oxygen and does not work well when undernourished. Go do something active and FUN! This will get the blood flowing and when you have fun, your creative juices start flowing. Do something that you haven’t done in long time: dance, roller skate, hike, ride horseback, garden, or ride a bike.
3. Change your Perception: Your perception determines the path to a problem’s solution. Look at your problem from another point of view. What would your problem look like if you were a different person? Imagine…from the viewpoint of a child, a co-worker, your dog, a gambler, a professional athlete, etc. This may sound silly, the point is to shake up your normal routine and help your brain create new pathways of thought.
4. Compare and Contrast: Compare your problem/issue/project to something very different; an object or a concept. Through juxtaposition, you may find combinations you never saw before. Exercise: Grab a blank sheet of paper. Write your problem at the top. Next to it write an unrelated idea such as “shoe”, “the national highway system”, “a candy bar”, “cat litter”….you get the idea! Underneath write every way you can think that these two things are alike. Remember to have fun. This is simply another method of changing your viewpoint as well as generating more ideas.
5. Be Visual: Thinking is very fluid and visual, making use of symbols and pictures instead of words. Give your problem a color…even a smell! What shape is it? What does it feel like to the touch? Exercise: This is best done with a large sheet of paper or a white board. Use a regular piece of paper if that’s all you have. Draw a rectangle in the center and label it with your problem/project. Draw at least 5-6 radiating lines coming out from the box. Label these lines as different aspects of your project. For instance, if the problem is Planning a Wedding on a Tight Budget, some of the radiating lines could be Food, Entertainment, and Wedding Dress. If the problem is Building a Team at work, some of the lines could be Collaboration, Productivity, and Communication. At the end of each line write whatever you think needs to happen with that area. This exercise can help you see the big picture as well as prioritize all the parts of your project.
6. Generate LOTS of ideas: You have gathered information, pumped up your enthusiasm and reviewed your problem from many angles. It’s time to really let loose with ideas. Exercise: Brainstorm! I mean REALLY brainstorm. Don’t just toss out a handful of ideas and call it quits. Put some energy into it. Collaboration is good for this as everyone will get some different ideas. Hand everyone a piece of paper (preferably large, that you can stick to the wall). Set a time limit. Allow enough time to get plenty of ideas but not so much time that you judge the ideas coming out of you (5-10 minutes). Also set a goal for the number ideas, a goal that will force you to work fast. Speed is important as well as reserving any judgment.
7. Give it to your subconscious: Let you subconscious mind have another crack at it. You have plenty of information and ideas. It may be challenging to pick the best course of action. Exercise: Sleep on it! Let your mind have it while you are resting. For this to really work you must do a review just before going to bed and place a notebook by your bed so you can jot down ideas if you wake up during the night and first thing in the morning. Intend that you will have some answers when you wake up. As you wake up, you may have to catch the ideas in the half-awake state. The notebook is right beside you so you won’t lose any good thoughts.

Moral Stories - Greek Torch Relay - Garud of Fire

Thousands of years ago in Greece, there was a famous race called the Torch Relay. All of the runners received a torch. At the start of the race, they would light their torches, and the runners would take off running with their torches lit.
The only way you could win the race was to cross the finish line with your torch still lit. Even if you finished first, if your fire went out, you were disqualified. So the whole time they were running, in the forefront of their minds was protecting their fire, keeping it from wind or rain or anything that might put it out. They were constantly checking their torches to make sure that they were still lit.

It’s the same principle in the race of life. If you’re going to finish your course with joy, you have to guard your fire. You can’t let your flame go out. Too many people have lost their passion. They’re still running, but their torch is no longer lit. At one time they were passionate about their dreams, then they had some setbacks. Now they’re running, which is good, but they let their fire go out. They lost their zeal.
If that’s you, relight your fire. God is not done with you. There is a flame that is still alive inside you.

It’s not enough to just finish. You have to finish your course with your fire still burning.

Moral Stories

Moral Stories - No Onions Country

Once upon a time there lived a young man who was looking to grow in his life. While he was exploring about what business he will take to support his family, he met a very well travelled man.  The man told the young man great tales of his travel and then he talked about a country that had no onions.

“ No onions!” exclaimed the young man. In all his life, he had never heard of such a thing. “ How can anyone enjoy the true pleasure of food without onions?”

Without any further thoughts, he bought onions, filled his cart and set his journey towards this whimsical land of no onions.  After several days he arrived in the onion less country. He made his way to the palace where the guards were fascinated enough by the weird cargo that they allowed him to meet the king.

“ I bring you a great gift from my country :, the young man proudly announced. The plant is native my place but new to yours. It has the unique ability to enhance the flavor of any food. It will be great if I could offer you this magnificent plant which you in turn introduce it to your people”

The emperor was little cautious to let the weird plant at first but he later allowed the young man to prepare some delicacies using the onions.

The young man used all his culinary skills to prepare the feast using the onions. All the empire’s ministers, the nobility and seniors officials were invited to the dinner that night. After the young man did the initial tasting, the feast commenced. Every one in the room started eating the food.

It did’nt take long for the hall to lapse into great noisy fit out f excitement. The smell and the taste of the food was praised by all.

The king thanked the young man profously and demanded the entire batch of onions and paid him its weight in gold.

In his journey back to the homes, the young man met a trader. He shared his magnificent story about the country. For hours that night, the young man recounted the splendour and magnificence he had seen in that far-away land, where gold was worth less than onions. He also told the trader that he learnt that the country did not have garlic. The trader was excited to learn that and thought he could replicate the success of the young man by introducing garlic to the country. “Garlics is infinitely more tasty and aromatic! If they were giving gold for onions there, he could expect diamonds for garlic.” , he thought.

The enterprising trader carried huge bags of garlics took on the journey to the country without garlics, with the riches he was sure to receive jingling merrily in his mind.. Since, the land was recently overjoyed by the introduction of the onions, they were more open to the idea of trying his garlic. The royal guards took the man with the new herbs to the king.

The king asked him to prepare a feast using the garlic. The trader was very excited and made several tasty dishes using garlics. As he had expected the garlic received even more praises than the onions. The Emperor discussed with his ministers for a long time about the reward for their noble guest who introduced them with the garlic. After some discussion, they all agreed that the gold was not enough for such a delicious food. So they decided to reward him with the most precious thing they had to offer. What can be more precious than gold? Onions!

That night the trader returned home with bags full of onions.

Moral of the Storey: There are no shortcuts to success.

Moral Srories - Two Monks and a Woman

A senior monk and a junior monk were traveling together. At one point, they came to a river with a strong current. As the monks were preparing to cross the river, they saw a very young and beautiful woman also attempting to cross. The young woman asked if they could help her cross to the other side.
The two monks glanced at one another because they had taken vows not to touch a woman.
Then, without a word, the older monk picked up the woman, carried her across the river, placed her gently on the other side, and carried on his
journey.
The younger monk couldn’t believe what had just happened. After rejoining his companion, he was speechless, and an hour passed without a word between them.
Two more hours passed, then three, finally the younger monk could contain himself any longer, and blurted out “As monks, we are not permitted a woman, how could you then carry that woman on your shoulders?”
The older monk looked at him and replied, “Brother, I set her down on the other side of the river, why are you still carrying her?”
--
This simple Zen story has a beautiful message about living in the present moment. How often do we carry around past hurts, holding onto resentments when the only person we are really hurting is ourselves.
We all go through times in life when other people say things or behave in a way that is hurtful towards us. We can chose to ruminate over past actions or events, but it will ultimately weigh us down and sap our energy.
Instead we can choose to let go of what doesn’t serve us anymore and concentrate on the present moment. Until we can find a level of peace and happiness in the present circumstances of our lives, we will never be content, because ‘now’ is all we will ever have.

Moral Stories - Echo

A man and his son were going through the forest hills. Suddenly, the boy fell down on the trail and screamed with a pain, “Aah!” Surprisingly, he heard the same voice from the mountain, “Aah!” Curiously, the boy shouted, “Who is this?” But the voice replied the same, “Who is this?” He got angry, and shouted again, “You are stupid!” And again the voice replied the same, “You are stupid!”
Annoyed By this, the boy asked his father, “Father, What is going on? Who is this?” The Father replied, “Son, Pay attention”. The father shouted, “You are very nice”. And the voice responded the same, “You are very nice!” The father again shouted, “Thank you”. And the voice again responded the same, “Thank you!” The son was very surprised but he still could not understand what was happening.
The father explained, “Son, people call it echo, but this is the truth of the life. The life is a reflection of your actions. What you will give to others, you will receive the same in return.”
Moral: What we give to others, life gives us the same in return. Your life is not an accident or a coincidence, but it is the shadow of your actions.

Moral Stories - THE TRIPLE FILTER TEST

THE TRIPLE FILTER TEST

Socrates was Greek philosopher known for his great knowledge and wisdom. One day an acquaintance of his met the wise man and said, “ I just heard something about your friend. Do you want to know about it?”

To which Socrate replied calmly , “Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be good idea to  test importance of what you’re going to say. Let it pass through the triple filter test. The first filter of your information is truth. Are you absolutely sure that whatever you are about to tell me about my firned is true?”

“Well, no,” the man said, “I just heard about it from somewhere”

“All right, so you are unsure about the truthfulness of your statement you are about to make. Now, let’s try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me a good thing?”  said Socrates.

“Umm, No” answered the man softly.

“So, you want to tell me something bad about my friend which you’re not certain it’s true. You failed the first two test but you may still pass the test if you pass the final filter, the filter of usefulness. Is what you want to tell me going to be useful to me?”

“No, not really.” replied the man shamefully.

“Well, if what you want to tell me is neither true, nor good or even useful, why waste your time to tell it to me at all. ” concluded Socrates.

Although there is nothing wrong with talking about other people, it is what we talk about them that really matters. It is so easy to fall into a pattern of unconscious criticism, doubt and misunderstanding while involving oneself in a conversation about a third person. This short story of the great Greek philosopher Socrates could help us in making a better judgment about the information that we consume every day. The triple filter test can act as a very useful tool for blocking all the information that is not important to our lives.

"Speak only when you feel your words are better than your scilence."

Moral Stories - Cockroache and Waiter

A beautiful speech by Sundar Pichai - an IIT-MIT Alumnus:

The cockroach theory for self development
At a restaurant, a cockroach suddenly flew from somewhere and
sat on a lady.
She started screaming out of fear.

With a panic stricken face and trembling voice, she started
jumping, with both her hands desperately trying to get rid of the
cockroach.

Her reaction was contagious, as everyone in her group also got
panicky.

The lady finally managed to push the cockroach away but ...it
landed on another lady in the group.

Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group to continue
the drama.

The waiter rushed forward to their rescue.

In the relay of throwing, the cockroach next fell upon the waiter.

The waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the
behavior of the cockroach on his shirt.

When he was confident enough, he grabbed it with his fingers and
threw it out of the restaurant.

Sipping my coffee and watching the amusement, the antenna of
my mind picked up a few thoughts and started wondering, was
the cockroach responsible for their histrionic behavior?

If so, then why was the waiter not disturbed?

He handled it near to perfection, without any chaos.

It is not the cockroach, but the inability of those people to handle
the disturbance caused by the cockroach, that disturbed the
ladies.

I realized that, it is not the shouting of my father or my boss or
my wife that disturbs me, but it's my inability to handle the
disturbances caused by their shouting that disturbs me.

It's not the traffic jams on the road that disturbs me, but my
inability to handle the disturbance caused by the traffic jam that
disturbs me.

More than the problem, it's my reaction to the problem that
creates chaos in my life.

Lessons learnt from the story:

I understood, I should not react in life.

I should always respond.
The women reacted, whereas the waiter responded.

Reactions are always instinctive whereas responses are always
well thought of.

Moral Stories - Life OF THE PENCIL

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box.
“There are 5 things you need to know,” he told the pencil, “Before I send you out into the world.
Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be.”
One: “You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in
someone’s hand.”
Two: “You will experience a painful
sharpening from time to time, but you’ll need it to become a better  pencil.”
Three: “You will be able to correct  any mistakes you might make.”
Four: “The most important part of you will always be what's inside.”
And
Five: “On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the
condition, you must continue to write.”
The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.
Now replacing the place of the pencil with you. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.
One: “You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in God’s hand. And allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.”
Two: “You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various
problems in life, but you’ll need it to become a stronger person.”
Three: “You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.”
Four: “The most important part of you will always be what’s on the inside.”
And
Five: “On every surface you walk through, you must leave your mark. No matter what the
situation, you must continue to do your duties.”
Allow this parable on the pencil to encourage you to know that you are a special person and only
you can fulfill the purpose to which you were born to accomplish.

Moral Stories - Old Man and a Dream

Moral Stories - Old Man and a Dream

Long ago lived a young man in Istanbul, Turkey. Because he was poor, he had only a single room, sparsely furnished with a few books and a small cot for a bed. One night the young man had a dream — a vision, really.

In it, he saw himself walking on a street in what he came to realize was the city of Cairo in Egypt, a place he had never been. He could clearly see the name of the street and the houses that lined the road.

In the vision, he walked up to one particular house, noting the address. He entered into a tiled courtyard and then into the main house. An open door drew him to a particular room within the house. In this room sat an old man surrounded by treasures beyond anything the young man had ever imagined.

Diamonds, emeralds, and rubies were piled high in pyramid shapes. Gold and silver bars lined the walls. Exquisite carpets and artifacts from around the world lay at his feet. The young man stared at the treasures and then at the old man in amazement, for in that moment he somehow knew that these treasures belonged to himself. He didn’t know how he knew (it was a vision, after all), but he was certain that all of it was rightfully his.

The young man bolted awake from the dream. So confident was he in its veracity that he set off that very day on the long journey from Istanbul to Cairo in order to claim his treasure. In those days, travel was slow and the young man, being poor, had to work along the way to pay for food and lodging. After several months, he eventually arrived in Cairo. Upon making the inquiries he found the very street he had seen in his dream.

As he set foot upon it, everything seemed completely familiar. The houses were exactly as he had seen them in his vision. And sure enough, the house that in the dream had contained the old man and his treasure was precisely where the young man expected it to be. Knowing his way, he entered into the tiled courtyard and then into the room of treasures where he planned to make his claim.

There sat the old man, but there were no jewels, no gold or silver, no carpets or artifacts. The young man, undeterred by the absence of the treasures recounted his vision to the old man and concluded by saying, “Since everything else in my vision has been accurate, I assume that the riches are hidden here somewhere. Please hand them over to me.”

The old man was silent for some time, looking intently at the young man, his eyes glistening. After a while, he spoke. “It’s strange,” he said. “I, too, had a dream. I dreamed of a young man in Istanbul who looked exactly like you.”

“Yes, go on,” implored the young man, certain that this information would lead to his treasure.

The old man proceeded to describe the street on which the young man lived in Istanbul. He described the young man’s mother and father, his siblings, his friends at work, and the books on the wall of his simple room. “In my vision,”said the old man, “the greatest treasure, more precious than all the shiny rocks and metals of the world, was there on a small cot in that room.”

The young man suddenly realized what the old man meant. In that moment, he saw that his existence, his very being, was all the treasure he would ever want or need.  A profound peace overcame him. He bowed to the wise man, and taking his leave, returned home to Istanbul where he lived out his quiet days.

Moral Stories - Old Man and a Perfect Woman

Moral Stories - Old Man and a Perfect Woman

An old man remained unmarried his whole life. when he was dying, ninety years old, somebody asked him, “You have remained unmarried your whole life, but you have never said what the reason was. Now you are dying, at least quench our curiosity. If there is any secret, now you can tell it, because you are dying; you will be gone. Even if the secret is known, it can’t harm you.”

The man said, “Yes, there is a secret. It is not that I am against marriage, but I was searching for a perfect woman. I searched and searched, and my whole life slipped by.”

The inquirer asked, “But upon this big earth, so many millions of people, half of them women, couldn’t you find one perfect woman?”

A tear rolled down from the eye of the dying man. He said, “Yes, I did find one.”

The inquirer was absolutely shocked. He said, “Then what happened? Why didn’t you get married?”

And the old man said, “But the woman was searching for a perfect husband.

Moral Stories - Old man with eight hairs

An Old man has 8 hair on his head.
He went to Barber shop.
Barber in anger asked: shall i cut or count ?
.
Old man smiled and said: "Colour it!"
.
LIFE is to enjoy with whatever you have with you, keep smiling

8 Eight Amazing Facts 8

1. The most dangerous feeling is jealousy. It creates insecurity. Insecurity creates hatred, and hatred kills you softly.
.
2. A 5 minute cold shower can “shock” your body awake — The change in temperature relieves fatigue and increases mental alertness.
.
3. People are more likely to focus and pay attention when soft music is playing in the background.
.
4. The person on your mind while you're unable to sleep is usually responsible for your happiness, pain or both.
.
5. Kissing causes the body to release high amounts of oxytocin, boosting your mood and lowering levels of stress.
.
6. Never say "sorry" to another driver after a car accident. It's an admission of guilt and could be used against you in court.
.
7. The smell of rain can literally relieve stress and improve your mood by over 60%!
.
8. Spending too much time doing homework can lead to a state of chronic depression.

Four Misconceptions

1. A guy met one of his classmates several years after school and he could not believe his eyes; his friend was driving one of the latest stylish Mercedes Benz cars. He returned home feeling awful and very disappointed with himself. He thought he was a failure. What he did not know was that his friend was a driver and had been sent on a mission with his boss's car!

2. Rosemary always harassed her husband for not being romantic. She accused him of not coming down to open the car door for her as her friend Jane's husband did when he dropped her off at work. What Rosemary did not know was that Jane's husband's car had a broken door that could only be opened from the outside!

3. Sampson's wife went to visit one of her long-time friends and was very disturbed to see her friend's three adorable children having fun. Her problem was that she had only one child and had struggled to conceive for the last five years. What she did not know was that one of those children who was her friend's biological child had sickle cell disease and had only one year to live; the other two are adopted!

4. Life does not have a universal measuring tool; so create your own and use it. Watching people and comparing yourself to them will not make you better but bitter. If you know the kind of load that the chameleon carries, you would not ask why he takes those careful strides. So, enjoy what you have and be grateful to God for that. Send to everyone on your list to learn from the mistakes of others!
All that glitters is not gold, live and be happy with what you have, everyone goes through one thing or the other,
Be blessed.

Moral Stories - TOMATOES! Get Better, Not Bitter

Moral Stories - TOMATOES! Get Better, Not Bitter

🍅A teacher asked her students to bring some tomatoes in a bag to school.
🍅Each tomato was to be given the name of a person whom that child hates.
🍅So, the number of tomatoes would be equal to the number of persons they hate.
🍅On a pre-determined day, All the children brought their tomatoes well addressed.
🍅Some had two, some had three and some had five, some even had 20 tomatoes in accordance with the number of people they hated.
🍅The teacher then told them they had to carry the tomatoes with them everywhere they go for two weeks.
🍅As the days passed the children started to complain about the decay and smell of the tomatoes.
🍅The students who had many tomatoes complained it was very heavy to carry and the smell was too much.
🍅After a week, the teacher asked the students “How did you feel this week?”
🍅The children complained of the awful smell and heavy weight of the tomatoes, especially those who carried several tomatoes.
🍅The teacher said, “This is very similar to what you carry in your heart when you don’t like some people.
🍅Hatred makes the heart unhealthy and you carry that hatred everywhere.
🍅If you can’t bear the smell of spoilt tomatoes for a week, imagine the impact of bitterness on your heart as you carry it daily.”
🍅The heart is a beautiful garden that needs regular cleaning of unwanted weeds.
🍅 Forgive those who have angered you.
🍅This makes room for storing good things.
🍅Get Better, Not Bitter!!!

Moral Stories - Old man and Cat

Moral Stories - Old man and Cat

An old man was sitting at the river bank when he saw a cat that had fallen into the water, flailing around, trying to save itself from drowning.

The man decided to save the cat. He stretched his hand out but was scratched by the cat. He pulled his hand back in pain.

However, a minute later he stretched his hand out again to save the cat, but it scratched him again, and again he pulled his hand back in pain.

Another minute later he was yet again trying for the third time!!

A man, who was nearby watching what was happening, yelled out: "O wise man, you have not learned your lesson the first time, nor the second time, and now you are trying to save the cat a third time?"

The wise man paid no heed to that man's scolding, and kept on trying until he managed to save the cat.

He then walked over to the man, and patted his shoulder saying: "My son.. it is in the cat's nature to scratch, and it is in my nature to love and have sympathy. Why do you want me to let the cat's nature overcome mine !?!!

Treat people according to your nature, not according to theirs, no matter what they are like and no matter how numerous are their actions that harm you and cause you hurt sometimes.

And do not pay heed to all the voices that loudly call out to you to leave behind your good qualities merely because the other party is not deserving of your noble actions.

The Boiling Frog Syndrome

Put a frog in a vessel of water and start heating the water… As the temperature of the water rises, the frog is able to adjust its body temperature accordingly… The frog keeps on adjusting with increase in temperature…

Just when the water is about to reach boiling point, the frog is not able to adjust anymore…
At that point the frog decides to jump out…
The frog tries to jump but is unable to do so, because it lost all its strength in adjusting with the water temperature…

Very soon the frog dies. What killed the frog?

Many of you would say the boiling water…
But the truth is what killed the frog was its own inability to decide when it had to jump out…

We all need to adjust with people and situations, but we need to be sure when we need to adjust and when we need to confront / face..

There are times when we need to face the situation and take the appropriate action…
If you allow people to exploit you physically, mentally, emotionally or financially, they will continue to do so…

You have to decide when to jump…And jump while you still have the strength.

Too much Truth - Blunt Truth

Schoolchildren sometimes play a game called “Honesty.” The rules are simple: For a designated period of time, the participants must tell the truth regardless of the subject. They then ask each other leading questions such as, “Do you like my hair?” “Do you think Lindsay is cute?” Inevitably someone gets angry when he or she discovers that these friends had been shading the truth, telling “little white lies,” to spare the person’s feelings. Even when the game is over, its lessons are not soon forgotten. Being honest with others doesn’t mean being brutal. It isn’t necessary to tell people everything you don’t like about them under the guise of being frank with them “for their own good.” Sometimes it’s better if we don’t know every person’s innermost feelings about us. Respect for another’s self-esteem often means telling them too little truth instead of too much.
Let's not forget verse from manusmruti.
सत्यं ब्रूयात् प्रियं ब्रूयान्न ब्रूयात् सत्यमप्रियम् ।
प्रियं च नानृतं ब्रूयादेष धर्मः सनातनः ॥
satyaṃ brūyāt priyaṃ brūyānna brūyāt satyamapriyam |
priyaṃ ca nānṛtaṃ brūyādeṣa dharmaḥ sanātanaḥ ||
He shall say what is true; and he shall say what is agreeable; he shall not say what is true, but disagreeale; nor shall he say what is agreeable, but untrue; this is the eternal law.

Moral Stories - OLD CHINESE Wisdom

Moral Stories - OLD CHINESE Wisdom

A farmer in ancient China had a neighbour who was a hunter, and who owned ferocious and poorly trained hunting dogs.

They jumped over the fence frequently and chased the farmer's lambs.

The farmer asked his neighbour to keep his dogs in check, but this fell on deaf ears.

One day the dogs again jumped the fence, attacked and severely injured several of the lambs.

The farmer had had enough, and went to town to consult a judge who listened carefully to the story and said: "I could punish the hunter and instruct him to keep his dogs chained or lock them up. But you would lose a friend and gain an enemy. Which would you rather have, friend or foe for a neighbour?"

The farmer replied that he preferred a friend.

“Alright, I will offer you a solution that keeps your lambs safe, and which will keep your a neighbour a friend."

Having heard the judge's solution, the farmer agreed.

Once at home, the farmer immediately put the judge's suggestions to the test.

He took three of his best lambs and presented them to his neighbour's three small sons, who were beside themselves with joy and began to play with them.

To protect his son's newly acquired playthings, the hunter built a strong kennel for his dogs.

Since then, the dogs never again bothered the farmer's lambs.

Out of gratitude for the farmer's generosity toward his sons, the hunter often shared the game he had hunted with the farmer.

The farmer reciprocated by sending the hunter the cheese he had made.

Within a short time the neighbours became good friends.

A Saying in Old China went something like this,

“One can win over and influence people the best with gestures of kindness and compassion.”

A similar Western Saying:

“One catches more flies with honey than with vinegar."

Let us make an effort  to make a pact that we will be polite when we speak and not make rude and sarcastic remarks at every opportunity we get, especially with our families, friends and colleagues.

Die empty - Start The Race

One of the most beautiful  book to read is "Die Empty" by Todd Henry.
The author was inspired and got this idea of writing this book while attending a business meeting.
When the director asked the audience: "Where is the richest land in the world?"

One of the audience answered: "Oil-rich Gulf states."
Another added: "Diamond mines in Africa."
Then the director said: "No it is the cemetery. Yes, it is the richest land in the world, because millions of people have departed, "they have died" and they carried many valuable ideas that did not come to light and benefited others. It is all in the cemetery where they are buried."

Inspired by this answer, Todd Henry wrote his book "Die empty." Where he did his best to motivate people to pour out their ideas and potential energies in their communities and turn them into something useful before it is too late.

The most beautiful of what he said in his book is: "Do not go to your grave and carry inside you the best that you have.
 always choose to die empty

The TRUE meaning of this  expression, is to die empty of all the goodness that is within you. Deliver it to the world, before you leave

If you have an idea perform it.
If you have a knowledge give it out.
If you have a goal achieve it.
Love, share and distribute, do not keep it inside.

Shall we begin to give and remove and spread every atom of goodness inside us.

 Start the race....
